Norwegian-Irish singer-songwriter Tara Nome Doyle has returned yet again with an insect-themed track taken from her latest album, Vaermin. This time it is the ‘Spider’ that gets the music video treatment. The track itself is intimate, placing her at first isolated vocal against distant piano that slowly builds with the addition of strings and cinematic textures, before being joined by ethereal backing vocals. Of the video, she explains: “I wanted to capture the desperation and instability that follow rejection. The image of a long-legged spider weaving its web in an attempt to recapture the object of its desire - a fly- seemed very fitting to me.” Check out Vaermin now. -Dan Peeke
